Day Six

Psalm 98:1-9

1 Oh sing to the Lord a new song,

for he has done marvelous things!

His right hand and his holy arm

have worked salvation for him.

2 The Lord has made known his salvation;

he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.

3 He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness

to the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen

the salvation of our God.

4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;

break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,

with the lyre and the sound of melody!

6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn

make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!

7 Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;

the world and those who dwell in it!

8 Let the rivers clap their hands;

let the hills sing for joy together

9 before the Lord, for he comes

to judge the earth.

He will judge the world with righteousness,

and the peoples with equity.

Do you ever just thank God for all that He has done? I catch myself driving in the car or sitting at a familar place and I just look around and can’t help, but be overwhelmed by His goodness. His beauty that is displayed, even in this very broken world of ours, is breathtaking when you sit back and actually take it all in. Except that I don’t do that nearly enough. Not that it is a requirement of His. But I don’t. But despite what I may see or not see, He is still so very good. And I should be continually praising and glorifying Him because, well, just look, y’all. Where ever you are, just look.

Lord, thank you. Thank you for all of this. No matter what our view is, thank you. Because it is good. And you are good. And your attention to detail is something to be thankful for. Lord, help me to be more grateful for your creations. For the views and things I take for granted. Because there is nothing familiar about any of it. Lord, change my heart and help me to see the beauty in all of it. And then help me to find and give thanks to you for even the smallest details. I pray these things in your name. Amen.
