So Much More.

It’s true. I love having money in my pocket. I love being able to not worry about paying bills or buying groceries. I also love being able to go out when I want. To go have a nice dinner with my family. To buy my kids the toy they’ve been asking for. And so I was happy when I found Beautycounter because it allowed me to do just that. But there’s more.

So much more.

I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t start my own Beautycounter business to make money and help contribute to my family’s finances. Of course I did. But after I began to learn more about this company and their mission, I soon realized that the money didn’t really matter as much.

This is a movement. Maybe no one else sees it, but I am part of something HUGE. More than money, more than sales, I want everyone in the United States to know about the harmful toxins and chemicals that companies put in our personal care and beauty products.

This isn’t a scare tactic to drive sales. This is truth. This is education. Of course, I would love it if everyone made the switch to Beautycounter and I would love it even more if everyone bought their products from me, but I know that’s not realistic. But eventually, one day, there won’t be safe and not safe, everything will be safe and I’m here to help make that happen.

Besides being a mother to two beautiful kids, I have never found a ‘job’ so rewarding. I get to go to sleep each night, knowing that I changed someone’s life.

Beautycounter isn’t like any other company. We aren’t. We are a direct retail brand committed to safe and highly effective products. We believe in education first, product second. We are a B Corporation, which means that we put an equal emphasis on people, planet, and profit. We aren’t direct sales. We aren’t MLM. We aren’t network marketing. We are in a league of our own, but we invite anyone to join us up here. We are new. We are innovative. We are defined by our mission and our products. We meet the customer where they want to shop. We believe our story, the Beautycounter story, is best told person to person. We are shaking up the industry. And we plan on taking our fight all the way to Washington.

I am proud to represent this company, this change, this movement. I am proud to know that I am fighting not only for myself, but for my family, my friends, you, your family, your friends.

Just like our Founder & CEO, Gregg Renfrew, I want everyone to know that there are toxic chemicals in their personal care products. Chemicals that have been directly linked to cancer, reproductive issues, infertility, ADHD, Asthma, allergies, and other human health concerns. I want people to realize that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime in the United States. I also want people to know that our children’s generation is the first generation that will live sicker and die younger than the generation before.

We have banned 1,500 harmful chemicals from our products, while the United States and the FDA has only banned 11. It angers us that the last time a federal regulation was made regarding this industry was in 1938 and so, we are here, doing something about it.

We don’t have to use the words ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ to trick consumers into purchasing our products. We disclose everything. Every single ingredient that we use is on our label. There is no hiding behind words such as ‘fragrance’. Actually, there’s no hiding at all. We tell you everything because we want you to know everything.

I believe these products are the safest, most effective products on the market today. Gone are the days where we had to choose between safety and beauty. Beautycounter has made it possible to have both. Our Head of Creative design and celebrity makeup artist, Christy Coleman and our Head of Health and Safety, Mia Davis, come from two very different sides of the spectrum. These products must meet both of their requirements. These products must perform so that Christy can use them on her clients, but they also have to be safe so Mia can feel confident about representing them.

We know that you can’t avoid every single toxin that is out there. We get that. And we know that you can’t live in a bubble for the rest of your life either, but we also know, that this is an easy switch. Why not eliminate the toxins you can avoid?
